One of my favorite areas of dentistry is implantology. This rapidly expanding field of dentistry is a very safe and common alternative for teeth replacement. When you are choosing an implant you should know, that this is an alternative solution for replacement of missing tooth (teeth) there are other solutions whcih may or may not be beter for you.

You are right, implants look like screws, but there is more to it. Implant consits of 3 parts. Implant body - the part which anchors to your jaw bone and heals with it. That is the artificial root of your new tooth. Abutment - the part which anchors into the implant and goes through the soft tissue of your gum and The Crown - the part of the tooth which you actually can see. The "tooth" part. The success rate of implants varies from person to person and also within the position of the replaced tooth in your mouth. The most successfull is a single tooth replacements in lower and upper front part of the jaw. implants replacing lost teeht in the back of your mouth represents a different challenges, but that doesn't mean that you can't have the tooth replaced in the back. The success rate that the implant heals into your jaw varies between 92%-98%.

In other words when 100 people get implants 92-96 of them will have the same implant in their mouth 2 years from the day of placement. If that is your case, then you have another 90% chance, that the same implant with this or new crown will be in your mouth for 40 years. There is nothing else I know of with such a guarantee and everyday usage.
I have an implant myself in my jaw, so I know how it feels before (without a tooth) during the actual surgery (40 minutes) and 3 years after that. The discomfort after the surgery is minimal, recovery very fast.
Implants do not decay, they don't need root canals and they have a life-time guarantee from the manufacturer.
I would be glad to discuss the possibility of replacing your failing bridge, broken tooth or failing crown with dental implants.
Just ask me or Kristy for literature available in the office
